Sat out last night and counted 12 per hour. We are going to set up both cameras tonight and try our luck. Keep your fingers crossed.

We had heavy clouds here all night, no rain, just lightening and more grass and forest fires. Hoping for some clearing tonight!

We were surprised that the smoke stayed low and the skies were crystal clear here over Flathead Lake. Hoping for the same tonight. Hope your area of Big Sky clears for you.

I tried my first ever attempt at a meteor shower last nite. Set up the camera before--f4-asa400 bulb with stable off-Cannon EOS60D 18-135 set infinity at 18--tripod old from my old medium mamiaya 645. I saw about 10 or 12 meteors but were all faint except one that was behind trees. PROBLEM this morning I only found one frame that had meteor in it.--but every frame and a red star in it, I zoomed in and every frame has that in it. It is from my camera somehow--the only thing read that I know of is when the lens is open taking the pic the camera shows red on the backside--is this being reflected somehow? I zoomed in on some fireworks that I did and same thing there it is. I will download the pic , which I tried to expose for about 25 secs but ended longer must have counted wrong, its 39 SEC--except I was seeing several altho very faint for me at my location in Mi--in the trees at 3am I also see that my camera reverted back to 3.5 somehow I planned on f4 or 8 Ok so what SHOULD I TRY TONIGHT???
--I see red spots in different coming from the camera in the picture

Did you do the meteors last night, This was my first try, but the only bright one I saw was behind the trees at my location here in the woods in Michigan. I was looking for info yesterday and tried some of the stuff last night, but not much luck. I put the pic of the only one I got with a 39 sec exposure out. 3am so morning came fast...

I set my camera up for interval shooting. I took 30 second exposures, one minute between exposures, and 99 total exposures. I left my camera on the tripod in the back yard and let it do its work. When I looked at my pictures this morning I had 99 nice starry sky shots, and not a single meteor. The last 4 shots had the sliver of the moon creeping into the frame. I guess it just wasn't meant to be for me. I hope your luck was better.

3 nights, roughly 200+ photos and here she is :)
I also had a few consecutive shots that I tried Startrails on, not very impressive but atleast now I know what to do.The file is so big don't think I can upload it.
All in all, it was a good time.
