There was a Porsche's Concours at St. Armands Circle in Sarasota on 12/15/2018. I will be posting several models over the next few days.
This one is a 1960 Porsche 356B. Came in two models, a 60 and a Super 90, this is the Super 90. The power plant made 102HP with a top speed of 115MPH. Just 2,163 unites were produced in the 3 model years making these cars very rare and sort after. Much better viewed in the download.
Enjoy!

Excellent 356!
That car has Ferdinand Porsche's DNA all over it.
The 356 is merely an evolution of the car that Ferdinand designed for Zundap and subsequently for Hitler before the war.
The engine is in the wrong place and Porsche heirs knew that and tired unsuccessfully multiple times to kill it. But the Porsche purist would not let go of the rear engine concept, notwithstanding its quirky handing. So the 911 series lives on to this day.

Regardless of for whom the original cars were designed, one theory was that Hitler wanted a fundamental "people's" car thus the Volkswagen was born. The Porsche was just an "upgrade." I fell in love with the old bathtub in 1962 but could only afford to buy one in the 1980s. There was nothing like the thrill of driving my 356B on winding country road holding onto that understanding control. The car was far from luxurious, but was my baby until I moved and had no room for it. It lives on now in Rome, Italy, totally restored by the person who bought it from me. It could last forever!

Great set my friend...I was painting!!!!
Like it, Don. I used to have an old "4-banger" myself about half-a-million years ago.
Nice coverage of the 356. Looking forward to more.
Very simple looking dashboard. Beautiful car.

This car only had 55,000 on it. I was in the same boat toxdoc, had to sell my Boxster. Cried all day.
