I was working on Mauna Loa one day and when finished, I pulled out my Canon 60D with my Tamron 150-600 G2 lens. I rested it on a rock wall, turned off the IS and auto focus. I processed it with the Canon DPP software and the trial version of Topaz. This was cropped from the original shot and was at a distance of about 12 miles.
For the distance involved, and the crop, that appears to have a very low noise content even when double download. Very impressive.

Thanks TBerwick, I'm impressed with the Topaz software. The AlClear cleans up the noise and sharpens nicely. I think I'm sold and will purchase it when the trial is over.
One of my daughters and her husband recently purchased a lot on the big island and plan to build a house and retire there in the next couple of years. I we ever get over there to visit, this is one place I'd like to see.
Nice shots, I've worked on the UH88 and was doing some work at the Mauna Loa site just a few weeks ago. Love the Big Island, but housing issues and medical issues forced me back to the mainland.
Thanks, alberio. I don't like to post actual photos in another's thread unless asked, but I think a link that requires volition to access is OK.
