Much to do about nothing, if they are going to try to throw Trump out of office for this then I suggest that every congressman and Senator whose staffers were paid out of the Congressional Harassment Slush Fund be removed from office as well. Civil fines may be appropriate but removal from office, I am afraid that given the circumstances and history of the same law making bodies that would be responsible for holding Trump to account would be found to be even more corrupt in their actions than those that they would be holding Trump to account for. The American people have a deeply ingrained sense of fairness and they would find such a prosecution in the House and subsequent trial in the Senate to be offensive.
Do I misunderstand your title? You aren't suggesting that National Review are a pro Trump group are you? Republican? yes. Very conservative? Yes. One of my favorite publications? NO!, Trump supporters? Not to the best of my knowledge.
