I had Luminar last year but it was so slow and sluggish on my computer (Windows 10) compared to LR that I returned it and they gave me credit. I would like to use it if it has gotten any better on windows. Has it?
Thanks.

There have been a couple of updates that corrected most of the problems. I believe that the DAM update is rolling out this week. You can also order Luminar 3 right now. It has everything in it for Windows machines. Google it and look for a discount coupon. I got it when the Windows version came out and stuck with it through all the upgrades and really like it. Also use Corel software, between the two of them I have all I need to do PP.

I tried Luminar and others but went back to Corel's Paint Shop that I have used for years, especially with the upgrade to 2019 Ultimate for $29.95 - still available on their site or $79 new users. (I like to own versus subscription mode). It comes with a few plug-ins and a couple side programs.

I bought Luminar 2018 3 months ago and just love it. I see no performance problems on my Windows 10 laptop. It has an intel I5 processor and 8GB of memory, and Luminar runs fine.
If you order by December 18th and use discount code DANBAILEY at checkout, you can get it for 49 bucks! I think it’s the best deal around.
Luminar was slow way back when it was still freeware!
Learn to be patient, and processing speed won't be so much of an issue. I really don't understand why everyone is in such a hurry nowadays.
An early Luminar download killed (locked up) my Macbook Pro, and they told me that their download could not do that to my computer.
I replaced the Macbook Pro with a Thinkpad workstation and will never put Luminar on it.
I have used Luminar on a Windows 10 PC without any speed issues. I do like it , but, I cannot wait until they roll out the library feature in a few days. This is one thing that it was really missing.

When I initially got it, It was NOT free and it was not an issue of my patience, I would try to process and it would just sit and buffer for 15-20 seconds. It was not usable on my computer.

Your loss, then. The new version of Luminar runs just fine on any decent system.
My experience was the initial Windows version of Luminar ran slowly and was a memory hog. However, that was fixed long ago and the present releases all run fine. There is a free trial if you want to test it.
Had Luminar last spring then got money back because wouldn't export after upgrade. Now back with it (Luminar 2018) and no problems this time around. Win 10 Pro, I5 8gb memory.
Not sure if I'll do next upgrade though....
I've been using Luminar 2018 for about six months and find it to be a great product and reasonably priced. They are introducing a new version this week which includes Libraries which I have wanted since I first started using the product. It's a free upgrade if you have the 2018 version.
Well, I bought a new iMac 27 in with an Intel i5 multi core processor at 3.8G speed and 16G ram and I can tell you the Luminar 2018 plug in using Photos is FAST. At least twice as fast as my old Mac. It used lumber along taking 15-20 sec to load a 17mb photo, but now it’s less than 5-7 sec. And when I save (process) the changes, it’s done in 10 sec or less. Very speedy👍👍
