I purposely wanted the lighting and shadows as shown. I would venture a guess, not to everyone's taste. FYC

I think it's a moody, interesting image. You might try seeing how it looks without the one third black at the bottom, or at least limit the amount in the frame.

They may be simple figurines, but the moody lighting evokes a feeling; the "real meaning of Christmas"?

Thanks a Michael, that was what I was going after. Low lighting was all that was available 2000 years ago in the “stable”.

I'm sure in your home this is an attractive display. Not sure that transforms into a photograph one would wish to study or ponder over for any length of time.
Whilst the lighting is attractive and sets the right mood its competing with other nativity scenes and and I fear would not get the full attention you possibly hoped for.

As I meantioned when I posted this shot it is not to everyone’s liking. And that is fine. My intention was not to compete with other navity scenes. Each nativity scene either in person or as a photograph, I believe are not competing with each other. But a representation of a religious or historical time period. An individual chooses whether he/she decides for themselves as being religious or historical. As for my intention I had no preconceived idea how a viewer would react to this photo.
As always appreciate your thoughts
