Very pretty. A polarizing filter, especially in the first two photos, would reduce the background glare, deepening the greens. Believe me, I've had a lot of experience with distracting glare in photos. It took me years, literally, to realize that filter wasn't just for sky and water. I'm a very slow learner.

Thanks SW I have a Canon T2i. What polarizing filter would you suggest?

Nice shots. Does your lens go down to macro? Detail inside flowers is fascinating and you get to see all the bugs.

Heavens, I don't know! I'm not a techy type: I'm just barely into digital and that's with an OLD camera (Canon
EOS 10D) which happens to capture great photos, only I don't yet understand how to share them here as I just barely got my first computer. But I've been taking photos for decades and have learned by my countless errors. Get a good quality circular polarizing filter that fits your lens. I do know I have a couple of Tiffens which aren't nearly as expensive as some, but I'll leave it to the more articulate photographers here to help you with choosing one. One thing I've learned is that the background is nearly as important as the subject, and should never subtract from it by being distracting unless that's part of your plan. But with flowers a soft pleasing background without distraction, including glare on leaves, is usually nicest. Show more of your work, please!

Hey SW thanks for the info I am like you been taking photos for years. I absolutely loved my Canon AE1 35mm. Many, many rolls of film. Then I graduated to the Canon 2100 point and shoot. Love the photos that it has given me. Then I just got the T2i last December so I am learning as I go.
I am also like you as far as just learning to put my photos on UHH. I have been admiring everyone's for sometime and decided to get brave and put some on.

Oh God I still use my old AE1! It must be 30 years old or more. I used it for all my macro shots until recently. It still works beautifully and I love the sound of it as it takes a photo, very crisp and reliable. I'm in the process of having nearly all my old photo negs put on CDs so that I can glom up my computer with them and someday edit them.
