Grey Borders Books will be publishing my Photo/poetry book, Pop. 1280, in 2019
In 2016 & 2017 I took a road trip through southern and western Minnesota including parts of South Dakota and Iowa looking to make images of the 'real' America. It was miles between towns and sometimes miles between homes. It was a land locked in the past, the evidence from years of continual migration to urban areas on every Main Street we drove through. I wanted to create a project that was documentary style so I decided to write captions for the photos that would help tell a story. The project is split into two parts. Part I, On the Run with Dick & Jane, is more of a narrative. Part II, Exiled from Main Street, is more prose style to capture the attitude of a town, an area that is slowly being smothered but at the same time holding on to hope.
I was hoping this project could eventually be presented in two separate and different formats. As a gallery type presentation as well as a more traditional poetry book.
Not sure how to go about the gallery presentation, any suggestions would be appreciated.
I shoot Sony and for this project everything was shot with a Sony a57. The primary lens I used was the Sony 16-50mm f2.8. Some were shot with Sony 18-70mm f3.5-5.6 and Tamron 18-270mm- 3.5-6.3.
Here is a sample of three that recently appeared in an online journal:

Thank you Jerry! It was my first real photo project.

The photos are great, evocative of places I've been and worked in. I'm not usually a "poetry guy" but yours were terrific.
Beautiful art project!

Very nice - conveys much feeling.
This is wonderful. Congrats for being one of the few to actually get off their butt and do something (myself not included). It takes effort, energy, ideas, conviction, much time and much hard work to accomplish what you have done. Excellent photos, sincere and compelling text.... Very good work; you are admired.
I agree with all the above comments. Your photography is excellent and though I don’t really “get” poetry I found your work to be creative and compelling. Very nice work and congratulations on a job well done!
Thank you all very much. I appreciate your comments and support
