Adobe Workflow for Video Recommendations

My interest in working with video has grown to the point that I want to establish the right workflow for what I do. I'm not shooting feature films here, but have some instructional and product videos in mind for YouTube consumption. My camera is an 80D which seems to very well. I don't have interest in 4k at this time as I don't think I would benefit from it much with this type of video.

One thing that has kept me away from video is the workflow of getting it from the card, processed, sound leveled and exported. I've done it in Premier Pro, but there is a lot of functionality there that I don't need and frankly don't want to spend the time mastering. Premier Rush just appeared in my CC "dashboard", which leads me to this question. There is now Premier Pro, Premier Rush, Prelude and After Effects that seem to all be part of the Adobe video workflow. I know Google is my friend, and have tried to find a somewhat concise answer to the question: What would comprise a fairly easy workflow using these tools to catalog (thinking Lightroom here), tweak (cutting room) and encode for YouTube and/or Facebook?

I have in the past worked with Vegas, and liked it, but don't want to make another purchase with all of the tools I already have in the bag.

Thanks in advance,
-Ed G.

Premier Rush is a new concept with the goal of being able to shoot, edit and post to YouTube with one device in a "rush". The footage is moved to "the cloud" so that it can later be improved in Rush on a computer or in Premiere Pro. Rush is a YouTuber's fantasy come true! So far, it is limited to iPhones, not Androids.

My efforts with Premiere Pro always return me to Premiere Elements. You don't get it in the CC bundle, but the workflows are targeted at amateurs with common cameras.

My signature has links to "home videos" I've produced in Premiere Elements.

Are there any specific questions about Premiere Elements I can answer?

If Elements isn't in CC, I'm not keen to purchase another package from them. If I purchase something, I'll probably move toward Vegas. I'll search around for some simple premier pro workflows.

Like Photoshop, Premiere Pro can be as easy or complicated as you want it to be. I've been using Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition CS6 for years and wouldn't use anything else. The fact that Premiere Pro can access Adobe Audition for sound editing right on the Premiere Pro timeline allows me to edit audio and video together. Features like auto color work the same as they do in Photoshop, one click and done. You don't have to learn all the complexities of these programs now or ever, but anything you may ever want to do is there, and easily learnable with a Youtube search.

If you are paying for the whole Adobe CC suite of programs, you may as well learn Premiere Pro and simply use what you need, and ignore the rest. You could probably get by with Premiere Elements. It's Adobes entry level video editing boxed version of software that costs about $100. You buy it once and that's it. But be advised, they come out with a new version every year in hopes that the new features they add will coax you into paying another $100 for the new version. Unless your video files don't work on the current version, there's really no reason to keep upgrading. In my case, my new camera is producing H265 video codecs and my version of Premiere Elements 15 doesn't work so I am going to upgrade to the 2018 version as soon as I see a good buy on it. Sometimes you can get if for less than $80. In fact, I just looked and they just came out with version 2019 and B&H has it on sale for a limited time for $70. Think I'll buy it.
