I recently shot some photos of maternity shots of my daughter and my grandson , some of the comments I received was that it was creepy and disturbing.. i thought they were beautiful.. what do you think?
I wouldn't worry about what people think. If I don't like it, I just wont look at it very long.
You can please some of the people some of the time, but never please all of the people all of the time.
A camera is for catching and preserving moments, scenes, and expressions. Your shots have all three. nice work.

There are folks who dont/wont/cant think non-traditional as far as "family portraits" are concerned. Its why there is such a market for velvet Elvis as "art". Add that to the folks who want all subjects wearing burkhas and I am sure you'll get some pushback.
I think these are very nice and will be an awesome memory when the baby (and her brother) look back later in life.
I'm sorry ......I don't see anything creepy or disturbing about motherhood
Creepy? Disturbing? They are shots of a beautiful point in time. These are the same people that get wigged out over breastfeeding mothers.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.. I agree -photos are freezing moments and memories in time... Some good some bad.. I love this forum!
very nicely done
I think they are tastefully done and capture a great time in your daughter's life. That's how you see the world, don't let others tell you how to see it.

I'm not sure how these are creepy or disturbing. Some just have a different view on life than others. Don't let other dictate who or what you shoot.
It was a spare of the moment shoot really... but I happen to love them..

I love these. I would not think one minute more about the bad people and what they said about these photos. They are a real work of art, and if they cant see that then they dont matter. lol I say show them off.
People are divorced from the fuctions of life.
The intimacy and romance of motherhood has been reduced to "she fat" and it's a crying shame.
Much like people don't grasp where food comes from, they are hung up on assigning birth to a metaphorical stork, as if birth were as dirty and taboo as using the toilet.
I recently read a really interesting article about the duality of America's pagan/puritan nature, unable to resolve sexuality, intimacy and biology.
You've captured something sacred and beautiful in these pictures.
I'm sorry if I've offended anybody, I really am, I don't want to step on anybody else's toes or belief system, but to me humanity is sacred in profanity, and profane in the sacred.
