The eyes look great. I would like a bit greater range from black to white in the rest of the portrait.

Back in the day when I was a wedding photographer if I sent a color photo to the newspaper it never printed very well. So I always shot that photo for the paper with a black & white film. It was never a problem I always carried two cameras.

I actually tried that, but liked this one much more.😊

Its very nice but I think you would have to bring up the highlights in order to be pleased with it as a print.

Very good. I like it..... Not much variance in Black and White, but for a reason..... It's not there to start....but for the light hair on the face and the detail, focus. Her eyes really stand out! You are drawn straight to them.

This is a great photo....IMHO.

It certainly works for me. Personally I like the soft range of tones - it makes the eyes stand out all the more. Beautiful shot.

Cheers

Just wondering if you tried bringing only her eyes back to natural color?

It doesn’t work in b&w. The soft color of her cheeks would be much more appealing in color. B&wworks best when there is good contrast and interesting textures or lines.

Thanks for all comments so far!
As I suspected they are all over the place,,,from ”love it” to “it doesn’t work in black and white”.
(Hard to satisfy everybody)
As a matter of fact this is a snapshot from “Halloween in the park”. I liked the eyes of this girl and therefore tried to enhance it. I personally think I managed pretty well 🙂

I like it just the way it is Elmer. It's all about the eyes!
