The camera data says ISO 64. 3 seconds

Yes, when I got there, the only things visible were a few lights in the village below. I had no idea what was out beyond three feet in front of the lens. It was during that night time that I took a few high ISO, 12k+ and long exposures 15sec.+; even with all the experimenting before first light, there was nothing worthwhile in Live View. Sorry if I misrepresented the settings; I always include the EXIF data when I post a photo to avoid confusion.

An amazing scene, well-captured! Those limestone karsts in the Li valley are sensational.

Yes, I enjoyed just being there, the photography part was "icing on the cake".

I have seen your other shots from this vantage point. I wish I had been there with you any of those times. The arial perspective is so dramatic with this geology. I rarely use a tripod, but when I do, I am always taken aback by what the camera can capture. I like the grain in this a lot. After I saw it at 100% I checked the settings. I shoot with the 810 also.

Great eye to see this before the shot. Leave the noise as I think you’ll lose detail trying to get rid of it. Thanks for sharing.

This is quite "other-worldly." Nicely done.

Yes, good suggestion; I’ll try and cut back the noise a bit.
I like the noise in this picture. It kind of reminds me of the Tri-X days.

Your 810 would have gotten a workout there. The geology was mesmerizing. I am planning to go back in spring of 2020 and, maybe also in late 2019. When the details come together, I’ll private message them to you. If your stars are in alignment and are still interested, maybe you’ll be able to make it.

Thank you, Mike. I was hoping the noise wasn’t a distraction.

I know. If there wasn’t a village in the frame, you could pass it off as the dark side of a distant planet.
