You had time when you were on the offense, now that you are on the defense, you have to work. Of course.

You v**ed for him, make him get Mexico to pay for the wall like he promised. Oh, is it too inconvenient for you to stick to the t***h? No wonder you like trump; something like the expression “thick as thieves”

Are you kidding? Chuck egged trump into taking credit for a government shutdown in advance. Brilliant move!

Trump made a disasterous move, accepting responsibility, and the party who causes such a shutdown always pays for it.

You never, never admit to causing a shutdown, but always place the blame on the other party—except this time!

Chuck can’t believe he caused or at least witnessed such a blunder.

Trump Had A Meltdown After Meeting With Pelosi And Schumer

Trump knew that he got owned by Pelosi and Schumer, which is why he stormed out of the Oval Office and threw his papers down after they left.

Eli Stokles of The LA Times reported on MSNBC’s Hardball:

I think afterward the president based on reporting I am getting out of the White House, the president was frustrated after the meeting. Aides briefed him going in, aides are aware, sometimes you brief a president, he doesn’t always follow the plan. This was supposed to be a short photo op, supposed to give a picture of the president working with the Democrats, incoming how the majority, trying to get a deal done. And then they’re supposed to leave. The president likes to sometimes keep cameras in the room. Pelosi was trying to help him say we’ll talk when the cameras left, but it sort of spiraled out of control.

When the president left the Oval after Pelosi and Schumer, the number of people saw him storm out of the oval, walked into a room just off the oval office and had in his hand a folder of briefing papers and scattered them out of frustration, threw them across the room and expressed frustration to people that were present, mainly with Chuck Schumer, his old New York sparring buddy he felt got the better of him, goaded him into a remark how Schumer wouldn’t make eye contact with the president, was actually looking back at cameras as he was making comments to the president, but directing comments to the camera. It frustrated the president more than what worried his aides which was comments he made, taking ownership of the shutdown.

Trump Can’t Handle Being Challenged

Donald Trump believes his self-created mythology, and he can’t handle being challenged. Trump had never been on the White House stage before with the opposition party, and he got owned by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. The Democrats are not winging it, as Trump likes to do. They have a clear strategy and plan, and Schumer was talking to the camera because he was sending a message to the American people.

Trump threw a fit because he is being told no.

There will be no money for the wall.

The meeting was a preview of Trump’s future. The free ride is over. The American people put Democrats in power to check this president, and reality check him is exactly what they did today.

Senators dumbfounded by Trump vow to shut down government

BY ALEXANDER BOLTON - 12/11/18 01:57 PM EST

Senior senators on both sides of the aisle where left dumbfounded on Tuesday by President Trump’s fiery threat to partially shut down the government unless he gets the money he wants for a border wall, which is unlikely.

Republican leaders have spent weeks trying to steer the president away from a government shutdown, but all that work went out the window earlier in the day when Trump declared in front of television cameras that he would be “proud” to shut down the government over border security.

“I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck, because the people of this country don’t want criminals and people that have lots of problems and drugs pouring into our country,” Trump told Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) while cameras were still in the room before a scheduled meeting.

“I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you for it,” Trump said to Schumer and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.), who was also in the room.

The frank moment left Democratic and Republican leaders stunned.

“The president showed what he really thinks. He wants to shut down the government,” Schumer said upon arriving back at the Capitol.

Asked if he expected that reaction, Schumer said, “No, we were not expecting it.”

GOP leaders were left cringing by Trump’s vow to take responsibility for a partial shutdown and his promise not to blame Democrats.

Asked if he had seen the exchange on television, Senate Republican Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas), said, “I did, unfortunately. I wish I didn’t.”

Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Thune (S.D.) threw up his hands when asked about his reaction.

“I heard it was very entertaining television,” he said.

Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), who urged the president in a private meeting before Thanksgiving not to shut down federal agencies over the border wall, said he would have handled it differently.

“I’ve never said that myself. I’m always trying to work to fund the government,” he said.

Shelby said Trump’s comments heightening the likelihood of a shutdown.

“I think it’s a step in that direction, obviously, at least [with] the rhetoric,” he said.

Sen. Patrick Leahy (Vt.), the senior Democrat on the Appropriations Committee, said he’s never seen a spat play out so publicly at a senior-level White House meeting during all his years in Congress.

“I’ve only been here with eight presidents,” said Leahy, who was elected to the Senate in 1974.

“Somehow he’s made up his mind that it will make him look good to have a Trump shutdown, but a Trump shutdown costs taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars,
creates havoc and does nothing for border security,” he added.

It’s not a border wall; it’s a fence.
