Hello Everyone,
New member here as of yesterday. I did have a small business years ago, portraits, but I wasn't really serious about it. My idol is portrait photographer Tim Kelly, out of Florida. I've taken his class at his (former) Lake Mary studio, and once again when he was here at WPPI in Vegas.
I was a Nikon film shooter in my youth (I'm currently 60), and had a Nikon F2 photomic. I got an N90s at one point (loved the built-in motor drive) and just before the digital revolution, got a Nikon F5 (spectacular machine)! I kept those film Nikons, even though I got one of the early Nikon digitals (could it have been a D100), but didn't like it, and got rid of all my good Nikon glass (lenses), and started down the digital path with a digital Rebel. I bought only 'L' lenses, and I have the (brand new to me) 24-70 F2.8L II (which blows the original out of the water!), 70-200 f2.8L IS II, 85 f1.2L II, 85 f1.4L IS, 135 f2L, 300 f4L, and one non L kit lens that I got for free when a friend offered me a free 5D/lens combo that I turned around and got 5D Mark II as a replacement for the freebie, and within the last few months, finally upgraded to the 5D Mark IV.
I also have a Hasselblad 500C, and 3 lenses, and a Mamiya RB 6x7 with another 3 lenses. Wish film were more easily available for purchase and processing, as I really got to love medium format film, and these cameras I got just before, again, the digital revolution. Really cool stuff to own, though.
I also have a studio lighting setup, from Paul Buff, 5 White Lightning monolights, all the light modifiers and softboxes you can imagine, and all the associated hardware, and many, many backgrounds.
So, I have a bit of experience in the photo world. Looking to pick up new info here!!

Welcome to Hogtown. There are all types of photographers here, from new amateur to seasoned pro. You live in a great city with a lot of interesting man made things: hotels, fountains, sphinxes, lights, etc. Lots of opportunities for day or night shots (due to lighting) on the strip, yet you can go to Red Rock, Mt Charleston, or Lake Mead for some beautiful nature shots as well. Take a look at the various categories on this forum: we have it all, from macro to video to nude to classifieds, etc......many sections.

Welcome to UHH Curt, glad you joined us. Also still have my old Nikon 35mm cameras, Nikon F and Nikomat. Stayed with Nikon and now shoot with the D7200 and D7100 and assorted Nikon glass.
