I'm back. Our life was on hold because my
wife had a recent major operation. She is doing well.
Camera question: B&H shows a drop of
approx. $1,200 from the price of a
Nikon D750. That is a hefty reduction.
Do you think they are planning on discontinuing that model or replacing it with an improved model?
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

The D760 is in the works now that the Expeed 6 processor is available. Look for it at CES or maybe CP+ in early 2019.
The D750 is out of production as of June 2018 but will be quite awhile before it gets listed as "Discontinued". In the meantime it is a real bargain for a full frame DSLR.
Thank you. Because of the price drop, I suspected as much. I agree that it is a bargain.
The Nikon D750 is right now selling for $1400. I expect when the D760 comes out it would be $2300 (which is the same price as the D750 when it was introduced) and Nikon will sell the D750 for $1800. They would raise the price of the D750 right before the introduction of the D760 because at that point they don't want to sell the D750 they want to make the price of the D760 not too high in comparison. That way they can sell the D760.
Any rumors about an increase in
MP's? If it was on the previous posts, I missed it.

I don't think it will have an increase in MP because the Z6 is still very new and if the D760 has more MP it would be difficult to sell the Z6. I would expect it's faster in frame rate and AF.
I'm looking forward to see what changes they have in the D760, although I have no plans to buy one or give up my D750. It is interesting how they manipulate pricing to control sales.

price control - these folks are experts at that !!!
I haven't even come close to utilizing all the D750 is capable of after 8 months of having one. The D760 will intro at a price for the body-only, that will be higher than I paid for the D750 with a 24-120 + battery pack. If finances are part of the equation, hard to beat the current deals on the amazing D750!

May I correct your post? Just came from B&H website. The $1,200 discount is only on the D750 with the 24-120mm lens. Discount on D750 camera only is $600. I knew something was in error. A new D750 from a retailer for $800 isn't going to happen.
I got the D750 with the battery grip last year for a similar price to what they are selling it for right now. This year is a little cheaper. This just seems in line with their holiday sale knowing the D760 is coming. I think if you are looking at FF, the D750 is great.
If anyone is interested a UHH member has a D750 with very low shutter count for sale, asking $990.00. Member says it is a USA model.

I offer only a challenge:
Name me one single solitary model whose
manufacturer is
NOT [in your own words]
"planning on discontinuing that
model or replacing it with an
improved model?" .

At least not for a few more months :-)
About 6mo from now, 800 will prolly
buy you a Nikon refurb. Not joking.
