I am currently undergoing the chore of cleaning out my closet. A task for only the stout of heart. Since I started buying my Nikon d90 and lenses, bags, flashes, etc. I've accumilated a good amt of boxes which I've tossed up into the nether relms of said closet. How many of you keep the boxes your camera equipment comes in? Why?

I keep the boxes for about a week or so--while I'm deciding if I'm going to keep it or not.

Still have my D200 box in the closet and SB 800 from when I bought them new. Something about the gold box... At work the camera boxes go away after about a week.

If you ever want to sell or upgrade, you get more "with original box" If you really want to get rid of them, I've seen people sell them on ebay. Better than just tossing them out.

I didn't originally, but I do now. I sell my stuff after a while and buy something new (or used). Having the box with the product is an advantage in selling, I think. At least it makes it easier to pack. I keep them all in a big box in the garage.

I have a pile of smaller "original" boxes about 4' high in the corner next to a bookcase just a few feet away from me. I have no idea why I put them there, but if I ever need them, I know where they are. :D The larger boxes go into the garage.

I keep my boxes because I like to buy/sell fairly frequently. People like to buy lenses when they have their original box. I have also seen a market for just the boxes, on Ebay.

I have every box that any of my gear ever came in, at least the gear I still have, going all the way back to my Nikon N90s body. I only get rid of them when I sell gear, buyers like to get their used gear in the original boxes.
Good thing I have a big basement!

I keep only the boxes of the cameras that I still use. I store the CDs and cables in them.
