Well....what I think you can take away from this conversation is this:
1. Stay away from 42nd St
2. There are very passionate camera owners out there (keeps ALL the major manufacturers in business lol)
3. It really doesn’t matter what brand you pick, all of the top brands have great cameras!
My two cents:
You have obviously heard the buzz about mirrorless and don’t want to be left out regretting. As a beginner, you want to make sure you can easily learn your system but grow with it as well. Your lens purchases will be more important than your body.
Please go to a “camera store” and not Best Buy or Costco to look at and handle all of the cameras in your price range! It is so important to feel like your camera is fun and functional for you or you will regret it later.
One last thing, I personally think that one should look into a new body and buy separately, used lens from reputable dealers like KEH - a good lens will outlast that body and make you happier taking pics (ex 18-135mm or similar)
