On one of our tours, I remember reading about the manchineel and poisonwood trees common to the Keys
and southern Florida. While both are very toxic, the manchineel is deadly, so if you're not familiar with
these naturally occurring trees of the Florida Keys and you're planning a visit, please "Google" both of them.
If you're hiking in the Keys, you're much more likely to come into contact with one of these trees
than you are with either a crocodile or alligator...
