Different POV - maybe more standing over, or if you're able to, get under it, closer, use wider aperture. Try b&w also.

Very nice! As a rookie, the flowers in the background distract me from your interesting perspective on the subject flower. I would have "dulled" those flowers in PP. What were your thoughts in composing this presentation?

You are absolutely right Mike. I did dull those background flowers but not enough. This is one of those images that instead of "growing" on me is grating on me.

I also have posted this picture in the Photo Critique section and, as yet, have not received the harsh criticism I deserve.

Composition is based on the so-called "rule of thirds.

Hahaha.......well heck, the "rule" doesn't always work anyway.

You have obviously not seen my PP skills in action.

I like the shot overall, including the way you handled the bg. My only nit is the yellow flower near the bottom. It really draws my eye from the main subject. If there was no way to position yourself to avoid it, cloning might work. IMHO.

I agree, that yellow bothers me also. At first I thought it would add more interest overall, but it just distracts. Thanks for taking a look and your observation.

Give it the ole college try if you want. Maybe I will rework it and post, but so many photos so little time.
