You're very welcome!
I just find it interesting becuase it explains
why photography is so difficult:
photographers attempt to do in one exposure what it takes the human eye
(two of them!) dozens of exposures to accomplish.
A lot of people just starting out in photography think they must be doing
something wrong: "I can see it--why can't I photograph it?" But no--even
simple snapshots are challenging.
Then when you add in the fact that photography is a means of communication--
like a language--and full of symbols and conventions, that's when it becomes
clear that photograhy is one of the great acccomplishments of mankind. No
animal takes photographs. ANd it came very late in human history (the means
to take photographs (e.g., bitumen) were known in ancient times, as was the
camera obscura. But photography didn't start until the mid-1820s!
