Thanks again Dennis. I don't have the proper equipment to shoot true macro which is why I subscribed to the close up section. Do you think I should subscribe to the macro section even though I don't have any true macro photos to submit?

Of course that would be up to you but I would suggest you at least give it a glance to see if you might like it. Macro offers some challenges but nothing that is too difficult. Of course you would need a true macro/micro lens that would give you a 1 to 1 size ratio for your photos to be truly acceptable as macro photos. If you do decide to go that route my suggestion would be a macro lens in the area of 105 mm to give you a better overall working distance. Check it out and see what you think. Can't hurt. The administrator for the macro section is a friend and all around knowledgeable photo person named Douglass Moody. You would like him. I do. Don't tell him that though.

I am a bit hesitant to post these photos. I feel somewhat intimidated by the great shats I have seen posted here, for example Earl's flowers and Doc's dragonflies. But I guess I won't learn to get better unless I give the wonderful photographers a chance to give me suggestions.
Terrific shots, Lloyd. You shouldn't be intimidated.
Three beautiful downloads, Lloyd!

Thank you Dennis. I did want both to be sharp. I just missed by a hair.
It happens, but I like the picture. In fact, I like all of the pictures!
My apologies to the Close Up group of photographers on UHH. When I first saw these photos I ASSUMED they were attempts at Macro photography due to the subject matter. I generally use my Nikon 105mm Micro lens for these subjects and had not noticed they were in the Close Up section of UHH rather than the Macro section. Possibly the result of getting to be 72. I had recommended the OP look into the Macro forum when I should have recommended the Close Up forum for further advice.
Again, my apologies,
Dennis
No problem Dennis. The close up section is what I was and am interested in. If I can improve my skills by looking at the macro section, however, I am certainly willing to give that a try. Thanks for your efforts.
Lloyd
Great shot of the yellow Iris
