EPSON V600 SCANNER

Hi hello everyone at UHH. I enjoy UHH's variety of topics every day. This is my 1st post. I need help with my recently purchased EPSON V600 SCANNER. I'm on MacBook Pro with OS 10.13.6 (High Sierra). I downloaded the driver for it, set it up and started scanning. Let's say I have a strip of negative with 5 images(frames) to scan. It scans about 40 seconds per frame, but in between each frame the scanner stops! It seems like it's thinking or something. (sleep mode?) If I don't do anything, it would stay that way so I need to move my mouse in order to start again. Why is this happening? Any idea how not to do that and just continue scanning one image to another without stopping. (Is this going into the "sleep" mode?) Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum SB.
Full Auto Mode lets you scan quickly and easily, without selecting any settings or previewing your image. Full Auto Mode is best when you need to scan your originals at 100% size and you do not need to preview the images before scanning. You can restore faded colors or remove dust marks in Full Auto Mode. This is the default mode in Epson Scan.

I have had the V600 for a few years now and have had no issues as you described on my PC, but have read the same issues you have with macs. The recommendation was to update your divers and software to remedy your issue, see if that resolves your issue, good luck.

It could also be that there is some other program on your computer running in the background, periodically interfering with the communication between the scanner and your computer.

Mine does the same thing but once it starts it finishes the scan. If you got to another application sometimes it will stop but continue when you return to the the scan ap.

Not a bad reason to purchase Windows10 and load it onto your Mac so that you have the choice between the two programs. You get the best of both worlds.
