A quick hand held 4 shot image. Stitched in Microsoft's ICE program but, I first tried it in Photoshop and it didn't adjust the variances in exposure very well at all.

Nice work! The new LightRoom makes the stitching very easy.

Mike, the Photoshop/ACR program I tried and the one in Lightroom are the same. This was the 2nd time in a week I ran into a blending breakdown. The first time it wouldn't even give it a try.

Really? In the latest LR you just mark the photos to be merged, go to "Photo Merge" and select "panorama." You then do any editing to the finished complete pano. Did you use any automatic function that would have made a big difference between photos to be merge?

No, the question was re using Lightroom to stitch the images together into a Panorama. This has nothing to do with RAW conversion. In fact, I only Import/Copy into LR because converting to DNG or PSD with Nikon D850 files takes too damm long.

Mike, in ACR it is the same program with the same procedure.

Yes, it is the same "engine". I was using ACR to stitch the files. I have done this more times than I can count. In this case as I said it did a awful job of balancing the exposures. I also never said anything about converting RAW files.

How much overlap was there for each image? I would think the programs should have handled the center merge much better, unless there was not enough info.

I didn't spot that miss align until a couple of days ago when I printed an 18" wide version, so both engines had problems. It took exposure adjustments to the images prior to another attempt in PS to get a proper file
