A few birds with a 20 year old lens on a 2 week old camera.
Trying out an F mount lens (AF-S Nikkor 500mm f/4.0D) on the Z6.
Nicely detailed photo's. Good luck with your Z6.
Nice shots! How does the camera feel to you?

Wow, these look great Bill! It will be interesting to see more results of the Z6 and F mount lens combos. Your set-up and light management is a great lab. Beautiful work as always.
Thanks guys.
I had the lens mounted on a tripod with a gimbal. The locks were completely loose. I could feel the IBIS working.
Last week I took some shots hand held with a 300mm that had no VR. The IBIS took over.
ALX - hand holding the body feels good. Hanging off the back of the lens was a different story. My pinky did not rest on the grip, but under the camera. With only 2 fingers on the grip my hand wanted to slide down. I'll have to see what they come up with for the extra battery.

This lens is still good as new!
Thanks very much for the positive comments.
This was my first long lens and has been through a lot of nasty weather. I remember coming off the beach one time during a snow/sleet storm with the tripod slung over my shoulder, camera and lens attached. By the time we got back to the car everything was encrusted in ice. I wrapped it all in a beach towel and headed for home. No ill effects, no maintenance required.
