Hope it's OK to post these...I sure don't mean to offend anyone. Just thought some of you would enjoy seeing my shots from the Christmas Concert we attended over the weekend. For me...I get the best of both worlds. I love music and I love photography, so these events are so much fun. I have a couple more concerts to attend this Christmas...Woo Hoo. Hope you enjoy these and I want to wish you all a wonderful, loving, safe and healthy and merry Christmas Holiday season. I took these a long ways off from the stage. We sat in the back of the upper balcony. These feature Christ Church Choir, local area children's choirs and special guest singer Sandi Patty and her family. Oh and if you curious to hear a video taken of this Choir...the best I can do is offer this one taken in 2009, it gives you a feel for what it's like to be at this annual concert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jygFQrvkcA

These are awesome available light photos. I take a lot of similar photos here in my community on a much smaller scale when we have events at our clubhouse. What camera/lens combo did you use and at what settings? Very clear and sharp images.

Oh sorry about not stating that...I apologize. These are taken with a Sony RX10M3. It's a bridge camera with built in Zeiss made 24-600mm zoom lens. I think most of these were shot at ISO-1000. Shutter speeds varied, but ranged from 1/50 to 1/100 (I think). Thanks for stopping by. Glad you did.

I’m impressed. Who are all the people behind the singers? Important folks?

Those are the members of Christ Church Choir. In some scenes they may be sitting while other singers perform. Some on stage (with instruments) are members of the church band and orchestra. I tell you, there is nothing as sweet to hear than a live performance. This concert was just amazing.
Here's a video link of this concert by this choir in 2009: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jygFQrvkcA

James, I certainly am not offended and doubt anyone else would be. I don't think the forum has guidelines excluding any type of shots made in good taste. All types of events have been posted here so I think folks will be glad to view these and admire the quality of your work.

They are outstanding particularly when you consider the venue conditions. I assume they were all taken hand held. I haven't checked the metadata so would like to know if you used a full frame camera.
Great job, thanks for posting.

James, I certainly am not offended and doubt anyon... (show quote)

Thanks for those encouraging words. These days, I never know what offends folks...seems like everything and especially Christmas related subjects.
No, these were taken with a Sony with a 1" type sensor. It does a respectful job for me, but a Full Frame camera no doubt would do far better.

It probably is Sue, its a 2 hour show. They used to do four concerts two on Friday at 3pm and 7pm and two on Saturday 3 & 7. They only do the Saturday concerts now. My wife used to sing in this choir and was exhausted afterwards. They love putting this show on for people...they've been doing it for years...since 1991 I believe.
