Be carful what you eat! :)
That brings a whole new meaning to food with a bite, seasoning with a sting, well you get the idea :)
That is actually quite interesting. I have never seen anything like that before.

The pears are starting to fall already, guess the hot weather. They are what I call rock pears. We pick them and put then in the fruit cell and they stay good most of the winter. You do want to be careful when you pick up one that falls tho. :)

Erv,
What camera do you keep with you to catch the "on the way" shots?
Nice shot Erv, i hope i get my pears off before they become "bee food" like this :)

Well I always have 2-3 in the truck. If it is a quick shot I use the P500 or the P7100. If I have time to take the shot the D300s comes out. :) I also have a drawer in the back of the truck with all my camera gear in it.
This was with the 300.:)

Most every year we do go pick then and store them. But this year they got ripe on the tree already. Almost a month early. Weird year with the heat I guess.

That fly is going to have to work a lot harder at trying to pass itself off as a bee. Nice photo Erv.

It must be the sweetness that attracts the bees as here are a couple of grapes split open that these bees have also found irresistible.

That is a pretty cool shot too. You want to be careful around them. Those are Yellow Jackets. If they get made they will swarm you. And if you are by the hive everyone comes out. I have a hive under the front porch I am trying to kill. I set some traps and every night I dump a round a pound out of it. Been doing it for 3 days now. Can't believe how many are under it.

I should have taken a shot of it tonight. They have been at it all day and almost down to just the skin. I will see how it looks in the morn and get a shot. ;)
