Washed Out Reds

Just received a Canon Pixma Pro-100 a couple of weeks ago. Just noticed that reds are very washed out and perhaps greens as well. I went on line and learned that I have an add-on called Canon Print Studio that might enable me to make some adjustments to the printer. However, when I tried to install the plug-in I got a message that it isn't compatible with Photoshop CC 2019. So, I have two questions:
1) will the plug-in enable me to calibrate/adjust the printer?
2) if so, does anybody have a solution to the compatibility problem with Photoshop 2019?
Incidentally, I calibrate my monitor monthly.

I had to re-install Print Studio Pro after the upgrade (it was working with LR but I got the error message about PS) and now it works properly. (there are some posts online by people who solved the problem with suggestions) Also make sure that PSP is controlling the printing with the proper ICC profile for your paper. If the PS or LR and PSP are trying to control printing and colors they will come out wrong. Set it for PSP to control the printing.

Those built in calibrations are not as good as a dedicated calibration app and device - I use Xrite's Color Munki Display system. I have it set to demand a recalibration every 4 weeks and do constant monitoring of the ambient light once and hour.

I save my edits back to LR from PS and do all my printing from LR. But just in case i also keep PSP installed and working in PS.

Another bug with the last update by Adobe (besides now having two versions of PS and Bridge showing on the CC menu) is that when you send a picture from LR to PS for PP work all the menus are usually grayed out. Adobe is "aware" and working on it but a work around is open PS first and keep it open, then send the images from LR and the menus will not be grayed out and will work. So I open PS and LR, go to LR and import, do some PP etc then send the image to PS for finishing and save back to LR for printing using PSP as the control.

How were you able to reinstall PSP after the upgrade? I didn't install the printer until after the upgrade and can't seem to do it from the program list in Windows 10 without getting the compatibility message. Until now I've been printing directly from LR.

I just went to the c-directory and found 2 install programs. The first didn't work at all and the 2nd got me back to the version message...

I have had my Pro-100 for years and have used PSP the whole time. I went to the Canon support site and downloaded the latest version of PSP then just told it to install by going to the "Canon Utilities" folder of the "All Programs" menu on the desktop and clicking "Print Studio Pro" and following the prompts. Oh, I am on a PC, if you are Mac I am afraid I can't really help.

Haven't had that experience myself. An easy way to determine if the problem is with the printer is to let the printer manage color and choose the appropriate Canon paper. I'm assuming you are not using 3rd party inks.

This appears to be a reasonable solution. Honestly, I didn't consider that there may be a Photoshop 2019 compatible download available on Canon website. I'll give it a try. Thanks...

I'm printing directly from LR and am using Canon paper along with the Canon ink received with the printer....
