I took these photos in 2014 during our return trip from visiting family in Utah. I found this area of northern AZ, just south of the UT state line, to be fascinating and took some time out of our trip to document some of it. Posting 10 images. Comments welcome and I hope you enjoy.
#1 I took this one from a turnout on Hwy 89A. The Vermilion Cliffs are visible in the distance. Did not see the truck until I looked at the image on the computer. It does lend a sense of scale to the overall scene.

#2 Approaching the tiny community of Marble Canyon from the north on Hwy 89A.

#3 This simple shelter was built under the overhang of a huge boulder. It is only a few feet off the highway.

#5 Another view of what remains of that shelter next to the huge boulder.

#6 This landscape seemed almost surreal.

#8 This sign documents the construction of the original Navajo Bridge, opened in 1929. After a new bridge was opened in 1995, the original was limited to pedestrian traffic only.

#9 The Colorado River as seen from the "old" Navajo Bridge. The old and new bridges are close to each other, so the shadows of both are visible.

#10 The "new" Navajo Bridge, opened in 1995.
