To an American eye it has a French look to it like if a painting. Obviously the actual location means nothing too me.

Could also work as a Pink Floyd or 10CC album cover. Collecting Recorded Music is another of my hobbies along with Photography.

I thought of the French Impressionist painters too but decided against trying to process it to make it look like a painting.

Sorry, too late...

I tend to do my own images as van Gogh or Monet.

Some hoggers get really upset if you play with their images. Thanks for going along.

Great idea, "Americanizing" the French painters Manet and Seurat. I hope you follow up with similar attempts. This one has, for me, the unnecessary distraction of the buildings and an imbalanced (too heavy on the right bc of the woman on the bench) composition. You have created a fertile field to explore!

What struck me first off was how each mini group was so isolated from the other groups. There is absolutely no interaction between the groups. it's nice to see that only the lone woman is buried in her electronics. The others seem to be enjoying their surroundings and each other.

I will post another on a similar theme... isolated from groups.

I think you're close. As bright and happy as this picture first appears, it really is quite sad. It is a testament to the loneliness of old age. Each of the other groups is exactly that...a group...people involved with other people. It is only this one elderly lady that is isolated and left alone to her own devices to occupy herself...in this case, in today's world, something electronic.

This is quite an emotive photograph.
