How can I make photos secure?

I am new here and just wondering how to secure images that are posted here. It looks like photos are downloadable, but if I want to disable that ability (including right click copy/paste), is that possible?

Post a photograph on-line, give it away!

Why? what you get from recognition is how you build a brand. Old work is worth far less than your recognized skill that you establish. Sign your work, share and let out the word... if it is pirated so be it.

You can uncheck the "Download" feature, but if the photo is viewable, there isn't any way to prevent someone from downloading the viewable version.

Well, if it happens to be a photo I am trying sell elsewhere, it would be pretty counterproductive to have it available here for free.

Thanks for the answers. I think that if I post here, I will keep it small and be selective about which photos I put up.

Basically anything posted on the internet is up for grabs.

Anything you put on the internet is public. Even if you disable right-click saving, a screenshot will capture your image. To protect your images:

(1) don't post them.
(2) If you have to post them, post the smallest size possible.
(3) applying watermarks will annoy a lot of people who want to view your photo and will only slow down someone who really wants to grab it.
(4) Some photo sharing sites (e.g. Dropbox) will allow you to store a photo and share a link with selected individuals. Probably the best solution. The only caveat is that the selected individuals could share the link further.
