Its my opinion that the heavy vignetting imposed on #2 is detrimental. Seems to be contrary to the objective.

Thanks for the comment, I agree. I think if I remove the vignetting, the left and right side borders will draw the eye into the photo immediately. The vignette is acting as a fence which doesn’t work here.
