Ok, I'm not sure if I succeeded or not, but my attempt was to show the emptiness of the countryside in northern Arizona and the abandoned home from another time period. I'll leave it up to you, the viewer to decide.

In a way yes, it certainly is a shot full of interest, but I think you would have fared better, if you had placed the horizon differently. Its seldom a good decision to place it in the middle of a scene!

Desolate indeed. Like the PP, and agree about the horizon. I think that emphasizing either the vast sky or the weedy foreground could work. Understand a reshoot may not be an option, but if it were, might also consider a composition with more space off to the right (since it's sort of facing that way) to increase the sense of loneliness. Just my opinion. Nice anyway, though!

I would have had a little less foreground and gotten a little closer to the mobile home . Maybe even have a little more sky since the clouds were good. The subject matter is really good.

Please get out of my yard! You're scaring away my dinner!!!

Ok, more seriously.... First of all, good choice going B&W. Beyond that, the centered horizon doesn't bother me, but its centeredness could've been heightened, or to use a concept from another of the arts, could've completed (been the tenor of) the metaphor of emptiness you literally sought to make. This could have been done in any of several ways, but one possibility that stands out (to me, of course, not necessarily you) would be by placing the open, empty window that we can see through, likewise dead center in the composition. Screw the rule of thirds, and meh! to pre-prescribed don't-do-'em-isms! Got a statement to make photographically? Make it!

I think it is a nice shot. You do great B&W and I think you are headed in the right direction for the sense of isolation. I am on the fence about the horizon. The rule of thirds is just a guideline. The subject is the trailer and we are told to "crop it out" if it doesn't pertain to the subject but I understand the feeling you are going for. Maybe shot with a wider angle lens to give it more a sense of isolation in a bigger area but you don't want it so far back you lose the detail of the trailer. That's just my very humble amateur opinion.

If you haven't already checked out any of the sub-groups in UHH please do. The group For Your Consideration is a good place to post if you looking for polite and almost always friendly feedback on composition, artistry, or technical execution. There are other great groups that are more subject specific. A Landscape Photography group is currently under consideration. You might enjoy that one as well once it gets up and running.

Thanks for all the input. I might try a re-crop first.

Cropping about a third of the foreground and a bit off the left side would put more emphasis on the derelict trailer while keeping that wonderful sky and a sense of isolation. Good shot!

Someone said Lucy and Ricki left it there after their trip in The Long Trailer...….

I like the photo in bw but agree with the cropping suggestions. I think the axles on top are an interesting element that would stand out more in a cropped version. Nevertheless, it does express the mood.
