Hi everyone...I'm wondering if anyone else has problems with Adobe Photoshop CC and Topaz Impression. Both worked fine and all of a sudden both crash as soon as I get in there. First it was the Impression and now Photoshop. My drivers are updated and I have 16 gigs of ram. My computer is barely three years old. My graphics card is Intel HD Graphics 530. It always worked fine before but maybe I need a more powerful one? Has something changed? All of my other Topaz plugins worked ok but now I can't even get into Photoshop.
My computer...Windows 10 works just fine otherwise.
I sent a message through FB to Topaz and they told me to roll back the graphics card driver...I did. But that didn't help. Sent another message about the problem but have not heard back. Also, I have sent in "crash" reports to Adobe.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Marsha

What is the version number for Photoshop? (Mine is 20.0.1) Did you "roll back the driver" at the computer maker's site or the graphic card maker's site?

There are some active specialists on the Adobe Photoshop forum. It operates like this one. Have you considered posting the same question there?

I had the same problem when Adobe did the last big upgrade to Photoshop CC. I did a chat with them and let their tech take control of my computer. They did a video card update. They actually updated 2 video drivers, one from the maker of my card and one Intel one. I'm not sure why there are two but it is possible that you might have 2 also. I'd go to the Adobe website and chat with them and tell them your problems there. Let them take control of your computer and let them do their thing. It might help.

I use both on an almost daily basis, and have not seen similar behaviour.

But I have to ask, is your HD reaching capacity? How much free space is remaining?

Marsha, I had a problem with Topaz Studio. With each Studio update, Photoshop cc would stop opening. Now I delete Topaz Studio with each update and download and reinstall the entire program. No more crashes so far, and I'm not sure this has anything to do with what you're experiencing.

Hi Donna....I don't have Topaz Studio though. Just some individual Topaz plugins. Impression is a stand-alone on my desk top. I am wondering about uninstalling Impression and reinstalling.
Thanks for helping.

I have almost 2 TB left in free space. Thanks!

Donna,
If you have the setup/installation file, I would recommend reinstalling the Topaz app. If not, follow the link to an Adobe chat. Good luck!!

Thanks Mark. That's just what I'm thinking of doing. I don't really know what else to do. I submitted another message in FB to Topaz and asked about the uninstalling. I got my Photoshop to work...one good thing!

Well, after spending ALL morning at this, I think it's fixed. I uninstalled Topaz Impression and did a reinstall and now it appears to be working. (Fingers crossed.) What a simple fix after doing research after research...checking drivers, trying to get help from Topaz...which is almost impossible. I also have my Photoshop working again. Not sure why but what I did was to reupdate my graphics card driver (after Topaz told me to roll back to an older version). Then the Photoshop worked fine. That's when I did the uninstall on Impression. Now both seem ok.

Thanks to you guys...you got me going on getting this fixed by myself. You're the best!

Marsha
