Hello everyone,
My name is Robert and I have been lurking here for a few weeks and I thought I would finally introduce myself. I have been an on again, off again amateur photographer since the late 70's. I started in High School as what I thought would be an easy grade class, but I think I barely passed. I received an AA degree from our local community college and took Photography as an elective class and I had a great instructor and had a blast shooting and developing black and white film. My first camera was a Sears fully manual SLR with a Pentax K-mount lens system. I next purchased an actual Pentax branded camera (for lens compatibility). After I noticed it had developed a light leak at the back, I purchased a Canon EOS Rebel SLR (film) and kit lens. After getting a Canon EOS Rebel DSLR, I have finally graduated to a Canon EOS T6i. I used to take a lot of pictures at car races and shows I attended, but now mostly vacation and family pictures.
My User Name is kc6zzg ,because that is my Ham Radio call sign and I use it for just about everything (in case you were wondering).
Welcome. The T6i is an excellent crop sensor camera. I ve taken a lot of landscape and architectural shots with my T4i and T5i. I am also enjoying the Ds1 Mark III I recently bought used. It looks and operates like a brand new FF pro camera for about 1/8 the cost.
I have Nikon gear also, film and dslr. One of my favorite landscape setups is the T4i equipped with a vintage Nikor 35mm PC lens (and F to EOS adapter) that is completely manual, razor sharp, and has excellent color rendition. For landscapes and architectural interiors, I pano stitch the pics in PP. The 35mm PC yields a normal perspective view (1.6 x 35) equal to 56mm.
Enjoy your equipment and your passion.
