I had nothing to do for Thanksgiving, so I went to the zoo. With no traffic I could get there when they opened. I had one goal in mind - to get cheetah pictures!
I had been told that first thing in the morning might be the best time, and it was. First of all, the zoo was nearly devoid of people! Second, the cheetahs were on the move (at least one of them). One was doing patrol duty while the other two slept. I must have shot hundreds It was a great day!
Here are a few of the shots I like the best. I'm still working on trying to get the tones correct. It was cloudy (and early), and they look a bit blue to me.
Do you think I'm lunch?

I liked how his back followed the line of the log.

Beautiful.
I am waiting for a cold morning in Los Angeles (cold is a relative term here) to go to the LA Zoo when the animals are moving
Nice shots liked them a lot. Thanks,
Terrific photos, Kathy! Blue cast should be easy to correct with WB (white balance) adjustment to warmer temperature (also you may have a tool to "remove color cast").
I volunteered at the National Zoo in DC in late 1980's. Thanksgiving Day was a favorite time to be there.
Nice captures. I especially like the last one.

Cold is relative here also. I wore a coat. Maybe that was it. Thanks.

I tried some auto settings and they were awful. So i did some manual tweaking. I guess I'll try some more.
Great series. Good choice going early.
