Wood ducks - male, female, young male?

Wood ducks are so beautiful. I caught these in the Central Park Pond.

Male, female and a young male just getting his plumage in (I think).

Manual focus (so could have been sharper in spots) at 400 mm (80-200 F/2.8D ED w TC-201) maximum aperture (F/5.6).

Wood Ducks are prettier than Canvasbacks, but there’s nothing more exciting than seeing hundreds of “cans” heading for your decoy spread on Chesapeake Bay. Too bad I was using a Winchester for shooting instead of a Canon!
