When reading some of my former posts, I came across this one in which I was asking for advice about boat tours out of Seward, Ak. and realized that I had not followed up with those of you who were kind and replied to my inquiry. I did indeed take a boat tour out of Seward, but in general, was disappointed that we did not make it to the calving glaciers. The day started out looking pretty good from shore, but as often times happens, we encountered rain, wind, and very heavy seas as the boat got near the end of Resurrection Bay, and we had to turn around. I did get some good shots, nice landscapes and a few seals and eagles in trees. The ability to set up the camper right on the bay was wonderful, and Seward is for sure one of the places everyone who visits Alaska should be able to find something of interest. Thanks to each of you who took time to give me advice ahead of time, but my real Alaska adventure came with nicer weather, both while traveling up to Denali and again at Fairbanks with the capture of two nights of the auroras. Denali is a must-see for sure, and we took two days of the big green bus in and out. For any photographer who is serious about photographing Alaska, I would recommend the flexibility of camping, unless of course, you are lucky enough to live there! Here are only three of some of my many favorite pictures.
Sorry, seem to be having some difficulty with uploading the images. I would like to just say thank you for your help with this inquiry, made last year sometime!
It seems that I can send photos this morning. Here are three from that trip.
