I have a Kodak Z812IS which I love but it fell on the floor. I want a different camera that recovers faster after taking burst photo's. I take bird and butterfly photo's right outside of my kitchen window where I have my camera set up on a tripod. Everyone tells me I should enter my photo's in contests or try and sell them because they are so clear and beautiful. I want a camera that is easy to use like this one. They no longer make this one I have. I know you are supposed to protect photo's before you put them on the internet but I don't know how to do that. I am 71 yrs old and my day revolves around my kitchen window. :)
Thank you but I want a different camera with faster recovery from the burst mode. If that is possible. I don't know that it is.
You will probably have to go to a DSLR camera...

What is your budget? How much you can or, are willing to spend is going to govern.
For instance, I'm a Nikon user and tf you want a top-of-the-line action camera spend $6,000 for a D4; if you want great and grand detail, spend $3,000 for a D800.
So, what is you budget?

I have a panasonic FZ150 which has a dedicatd burst button allowing you to set from 2 to 60 frames burst. I checked out rcovery times. At 12 frames recovery is virtually instant. At 60 frames it takes 10 secs. So i guess it depends on how many frames you want to shoot. In all respects i find the FZ150 to be a great camera.

I would suggest looking at the Canon SX40 or Nikon P510. They will do a great job and should be faster at recovery especially if you use Class 10 SD cards. Use the SEARCH at the top of the page to read the many posts on both of these excellent cameras.
Beautiful photo. It depends on how much you want to be involved with the photo shoots. I have used a Point and shoot and a DLSR. I like the Dlsr however the Point and shoot is awful convienient.

That's a very pretty bird...what kind is it? Also you will be very happy with the Canon Sx40 and I know you will find it easy to use.
The brand of camera is not important. Go to your local camera dealer, with a fixed budget, and handle various different models. I think your only question need be, do I want interchangable lenses, or will a fixed lens (bridge camera) suit me better. Buy the one which you think is the best for your style of photography. Remember you want to be a photographer NOT an equipment junkie.

The New SX50 improves the recovery time by quite a bit.
SX40= 329.00
P510= 399.00
SX50= 479.00
These are the latest prices at Walmart. I am getting ready to upgrade my SX40 to the SX50.
