Hello Everyone - I'm a new member who joined this morning. I really like what I'm seeing within this group. I'm retired and have become an avid amateur photographer. I try to get out weekly to shoot landscapes. This past weekend, I visited the Schoodic side of Acadia National Park and took some photos on the Park Loop Road looking east into the Mount Desert Narrows. I was fortunate to be able to catch the clouds clearing around 3:00 PM. I've intentionally included lens flare in my picture, because I feel in this picture it adds to it. I was shooting on a monopod with a Nikon D750 and a Tamron 24 - 70 mm lens. Hope you enjoy the picture. -Paul

Nice, but what makes it special? Not the sun--there are plenty of similar shots. Perhaps you have a different take, but the snow and the rocks with the sun's reflection seem unique. I wonder if you somehow made that the center of attention you would have a more unique to you photo.

Very nice image! Well composed and executed.

I was there in October after a long road trip from Idaho. The leaves were beginning to turn. Is that snow already in your photo?

Several aspects make it compelling to me. The rule of thirds composition makes it appealing to the eye. The breaking out of the sun in contrast to the snow tells a story. The lens flare amplifies that story. Focus and depth of field deliver a sharp inage pleasing to the eye. Color rendition is pleasing too.
