UTMike Loc: South Jordan, UT

As with the first Arches set, these shots represent what awaits you in Arches NP without straying from the normal roads and trails. The first five shots are from the Delicate Arch hike. I was surprised at the force of the wind at the Arch. Several hikers had their hats blown off when reaching the top. The next five are of Park Avenue.

The "rock on top" (dead center in the first of your images) is officially named 'Ham Rock.'

The canyon below Delicate Arch is named 'Winter Camp Canyon.' It is indeed a great place to recover slightly used hats, (mostly full) water bottles, the occasional set of car keys, and other highly desired sundries.

I love those huge monoliths. The reliefs on their sides always seem to me to somehow be a message from the gods left for us but somehow we have lost the ability to read and understand.
