Trump's reason for slamming McRaven was that he allegedly supported a couple of Democrats
https://www.alternet.org/semper-wtf-trump-tells-fox-news-he-only-supports-military-when-they-bow-down-him

This has been a busy Sunday for Donald Trump. When he wasn't posting f**grant propaganda videos of himself disrespecting California fire victims, he was excitedly planted in front of his television so that he could fire off rapid responses to the insolence directed at him by those pesky Democrats and wayward Republicans. So naturally he lashed out the imaginary "caravan" of criminal invaders marching toward the U.S. border. He posted an infantile tweet that referred to Rep. Adam Schiff and Adam "Schitt." And he promoted his latest appearance on State TV (aka Fox News) with Chris Wallace.

There was a lot of blathering idiocy throughout the interview, and it can be viewed in conveniently sectioned off pieces here. But one area of particular interest was when Wallace sought Trump's reaction to remarks made by retired Admiral William McRaven. Trump twice interrupted Wallace as he tried to ask the question regarding McRaven saying that Trump's attacks on the press are "the greatest threat to democracy in my lifetime." Eventually Wallace got the question out and it resulted in this disturbing exchange (video below):

Wallace: Bill McRaven. Retired admiral. Thirty-seven years. Former head of Special Operations...
Trump: Hillary Clinton fan.
Wallace: Special operations...
Trump: Excuse me. Hillary Clinton fan.
Wallace: ...who led the operations, commanded the operations that took down Saddam Hussein and that k**led Osama bin Laden, says that your sentiment is the greatest threat to democracy in his lifetime.
Trump: Okay. He's a Hillary Clinton backer and an Obama backer. And frankly, wouldn't it have been nice if we got Osama bin Laden a lot sooner than that?

Holy Shiitake Mushrooms. Trump actually has the gall to disparage a Navy Seal with more than three decades of service to his country, and whose leadership helped bring down two of America's most virulent foes. And Trump's reason for slamming McRaven was that he allegedly supported a couple of Democrats (aka Americans). What's more, Trump's insult went off the deep end by belittling McRaven's accomplishments because they hadn't happened sooner. For the record, George W. Bush had eight years to deal with bin Laden. Under Obama, bin Laden was dead in two years. And that was while Obama was also dealing with Bush's Great Recession. Trump, on the other hand, evaded military service entirely via five questionable deferments. He has no moral standing to criticize McRaven, Obama, Clinton, or anyone else.

It's also worth noting that Trump is lying again. McRaven was not a supporter of Clinton or Obama. He never endorsed either and he served presidents of both parties. However, he was on the Trump t***sition team's short list for a top national security post. Which makes his slander all the more repulsive.

This ought to be a wake up call for every member of the military, every veteran, and every American who supports them, that Trump has zero respect for their service or commitment to duty. Unless, that is, they are also slavishly adoring of him personally. Anyone who demonstrates independent thought or otherwise veers from total devotion to Trump is discarded and treated like t*****rs no matter how impressive or patriotic their past. Trump will turn on you if you fail to worship him sufficiently. And that's not patriotism, it's malignant narcissism with tyrannical tendencies.

Police group director: Obama caused a 'war on cops'

The head of a law enforcement advocacy group lashed out at President Barack Obama in the wake of the Dallas shootings that left five police officers dead, accused the president of carrying out a "war on cops."

“I think [the Obama administration] continued appeasements at the federal level with the Department of Justice, their appeasement of violent criminals, their refusal to condemn movements like Black L***s M****r, actively calling for the death of police officers, that type of thing, all the while blaming police for the problems in this country has led directly to the climate that has made Dallas possible,” William Johnson, the executive director of the National Association of Police Organizations, said in an interview with Fox on Friday morning.

Johnson said although the Thursday night shooting of law enforcement officers reminded him of “the violence in the streets in the 60’s and 70’s,” he pointed out how Obama’s response appeared different than his predecessors.

“I think one of the big differences then was you had governors and mayors and the president — whether it was President Johnson or President Nixon, Republican or Democrat — condemning violence against the police and urging support for the police,” Johnson said. “Today that's markedly absent. I think that's a huge difference, and that's directly led to the climate that allows these attacks to happen.”

"It's a war on cops," Johnson also said. "And the Obama administration is the Neville Chamberlain of this war."

Obama on Friday morning strongly condemned the Dallas shootings, which happened at the end of a protest about the k*****gs of two black men by police officers earlier this week, as a "vicious, calculated and despicable attack."

"Let's be clear there are no possible justifications for these attacks or any violence towards law enforcement," he said from Warsaw, Poland, where he is attending a NATO meeting

On Thursday, before the Dallas shootings, Obama tried to strike a balance as he talked about anger and grief in the African-American community after the latest k*****gs by police and the feeling among some law enforcement officials that Obama has not always supported them.

“To be concerned about these issues is not to be against law enforcement,” he said. ”When people say black l***s m****r, it doesn’t mean blue lives don’t matter.”

Other law enforcement groups on Friday called for better relationships between cops and their communities.

DC Police Union Secretary Jimmy White admitted there was a clear racial disparity in the criminal justice system, and police officers needed better relationships with their communities.

"To put all the blame on one aspect of the problem is incorrect. You can't just say it's only Obama that has created this culture," White told POLITICO on Friday. "We have to look into communities, into employment, we have to look into everything."

"It just seems that there could be more effort by our government as far as making sure that the playing field is leveled," the secretary said.

White also criticized trends on social media like #BlueLivesMatter or #BlackLivesMatter, saying "we focus too much" on labels instead of addressing the community's needs.

"There is a balance between giving the public what they want and keeping our police officers safe," he said. “We are hurting as an agency and as a union and we just wish that the events of yesterday did not happen and never happen again. We will grow, we will heal from this, and we will watch each other's backs."

Chuck Canterbury, national President of the Fraternal Order of Police, said he would encourage the Department of Justice to investigate the Dallas shooting as a h**e crime.

"Nobody should die because of the color of their skin and nobody should die because of the color of the uniform that they’re wearing either," he said in an interview with NPR on Friday.

Canterbury added that individual officers "are not in control of their training," pointing out that police in Chicago "have been asking for Taser training for almost eight years."

"Less-than-lethal methods need to be improved every day. Police officers would like that. Nobody goes to work, pins on a badge or a star and wants to end somebody else’s life," the FOP president said.

Are you calling Chris Wallace of Fox News a liar? Or Donald Trump a liar? Because it is their words we are talking about. Look, here it is again:

The reporter wrote for clicks. There's good writing then there's sloppy pieces like that. The facts can be reported without the writer being a drama queen. By doing that they show they have little respect for their readers.

It's not about the writer. It's about Trump's disdain for war heroes, when they don't bow down to him.

Try to keep up with the conversation. I know its hard, when the issue doesn't reflect well on your cult hero, but you don't even try.

Oh I am keeping up. What I see is people reveling in supermarket tabloid style journalism. George Will wrote a far more professional hard hitting piece on Trump. Charles Krauthammer (who has passed away) also was very critical of Trump but remained professional. They both make this person look very childish.

By the way, that's lie #4 for you today.
