Fabulous park. Was there two summers ago for evening and morning lighting shooting, which went well.

The horses give a great perspective on the size of the formation shown, but on my screen the contrast seems too great and overall dark.

Here's a quick interpretaton of another possibility.

I've been enjoying the images you've posted today, but was most struck by this one. Whether you intended it or not, to me, your image has the 'feel' of a watercolor scene painted by Charlie Russell or Frederick Remington, and I hope you take that as the praise I mean it to be. Beyond that, since seeing your shot, off and on over the day I've tried to figure out where you were when you took the shot. At best, I can place you outside the eastern boundary of the park, maybe in some southerly portion of Long Valley, or maybe a little further east, maybe in Yellow Cat Flats or the Dome Plateau area(s). Problem is, I've been in those places, and though there are outcrops/buttes along the lines of those in your photo, any of those would have different skyline. Alternately, outside the western boundary of the park, not far off Hwy 191, the fins of the Herdina Park section of Arches has a similar skyline, but I've never seen a butte like that along there. Had you done any 4-wheeling outside the park during your trip?

Thank you for your opinion, observations and interpretations. I visited in 2011 and don't exactly recall. I was either in the car or stopped and stepped out. But no 4 wheeling during the visit

Heres another from Arches.

ps. actually, I just realized that previous pic you commented on was from Monument Park

area called "windows"
