Congrats Bob, it was my first “real” camera (a long, long time ago).

Nice find, Bob. Those Schneiders are pds (pretty damn sharp). The burning question, though, is: does it have two card slots???

That's a beauty! There are quite a few Retinas available on eBay.

I bought my first IIA used when I went off to the Navy in 1964. When in Spain I bought a new Nikon and sold the Rtina to a a
shipmate. I have been using Nikon ever since. However when in an antique mall several years ago I saw a IIA in pristine condition and purchased it. Occasionally I shot a roll of BW with it. They are great little cameras.

That's hard to say. The sensor doesn't use pixels. It also has the advantage that I never have to worry about batteries dying.

This was also taken using a newly acquired softbox.

Never have to clean the sensor! Every time you wind, you get a new sensor. Leaf shutter = no mirror slap. Love the simplicity. Those were the days.

My first 35mm camera was a Retina II, with the 47mm f/2 Kodak Ektar lens. Got it in 1956 when I was 12 years old and was heading off to summer camp in Colorado. It went a lot of miles on horseback, and took a lot of Kodachrome slides, over the years. Lovely little machines.

That looks awesome Bob, I'm sure you will get some film in it soon, can't wait to see some results.
