The default setting is to show the photo when you push the right arrow button located at the top left on the back of the camera. Nikon will not automatically show the shot, u have to press that button.
If this does not work do the two button reset to default settings and try again.

More misinformation!

Go to playback menu (usually the top menu) and choose "Image Review" ON ...

... would be a better answer.

The 2 button reset is recommended more often out of ignorance than out of necessity. '

Jerry already posted the page from the owners manual!

Did you read the manual and follow it with camera in hand. Don't like to read, Google it..... Google, other than the manual, is your/my life saver.

Go to shooting menu, then image area, then auto dx crop and turn to on. when you use a dx lens the camera will automaticly change to dx mode and the viewfinder will change image area will change also to help you compose

google and you tube are your friends. Also, the manual is quite helpful. make sure your playback images is on in your menu. Enjoy your new camera, I have the D750 and have been enjoying it for years.

The simple solution is, on the back of the camera upper left, the right arrow(>} next to the trash can. push arrow last picture taken is displayed. use the 4 way toggle to scroll through your photos.

Hello,
I use the Nikon 16-35mm with the D750 for real estate shoots along with Nikon sb700 speedlight. Very happy with lens and camera. Dynamic range is great and even get nice window pulls with single exposures.

My daughter borrows my D750 for real estate shots, along with the f/2.8 14-24mm lens. She loves that lens, and it takes beautiful photos! It's expensive, but certainly worth it for commercial use. (Presently it's $200 off on Amazon).

I do not have a D750. But based on the models I do have, I would suggest that you look in the Playback Menu (I'm presuming it's called that on the D750...probably the first menu choice) for "Image Review" or something similar. That should allow you to turn the function you are looking for on or off.

Edit: Oops...sorry. I for some reason could not see that this had already been answered until after posting my response.
