Seems to me, this marketing is becoming very popular as I see more like that everyday.

If that is true, the real Black Friday is going to be a dud sales wise.

You are correct. Online sales have been leveling the field for years. In the end, the peak day might be any day, and the slowest day will be not that far below the average. It will be interesting to see what gimmick the marketeers come up with then.

And now the online retailers have initiated "Cyber Monday", the Monday after Thanksgiving.

I'm just watching for a Black Nikon day & I don't care which day of the week/month it falls on.

Local Saturday.
And others are right, every holiday or whatever day has sales starting weeks before then "Sale is extended" for weeks after until the next "special day that weeks before starts the sale and extends with 2-3 days of no sale in between. If you need a sale just wait a day or two after the one you missed and the next will start. Today there seems to be no end to sales so they have become the actual retail price and have no true sale meaning.

And I hope, and am patiently waiting, for the D7200 to be one of the "Black Whatever" days sale items.

Good point. How low can they lower their prices?

In the UK, we have Boxing Day sales, and New Year Sales. Which both start before the designated day arrives. Easter Eggs will appear, even before Xmas day. No wonder some couples have children before they get married.

I stopped being excited over "Black Friday" a long time ago. When it was still an "actual thing" it was dangerous to shop. The crowds were huge and unruly.
With the growth of eCommerce, I choose to bypass the "sales" and shop when it is convenient.
It may, and I specify May, cost up to 5% more, however for me the convenience is worth it.

Now "Black Friday" ads just clutter my email. I have them go directly to my spam folder.

I read an article that said over the last 10 years, more people had been injured or killed in the U.S. during Black Friday events than shark attacks.

Cyber Monday, here I come. And even that is not very exciting.
