In 2014, Ford Mustang celebrated it's 50th Anniversary (I remember when the '64 version hit the road). My son and I were able to attend the celebration held in Charlotte, NC that April. The weather was cold and wet that day yet there were several enthusiasts out for the event. There were even several running on the track although slower than I am sure they wanted to due to the wet track. The attached are photos I took of the front grille and hood of a 2014 Shelby Super Snake. Hope you enjoy.

A beauty!

I remember the first Mustang, too. It was a really big deal. My brother ordered one, but started college in VA while waiting for it to arrive. When the dealer finally got it, my wife and I drove it down to him. That was a nice trip.

I remember driving a friend's 1967 fastback for hours when I first got my driver's license. Ever since then I wanted a fastback of my own. It wasn't to happen until the retro models came out in 2005 that I then got a 2006 V-6 and later a 2010 GT. My son still has his 2005 GT (not quite stock any more).

Thanks for stopping by Jerry and leaving your comments.

Love the color, stripes and scoop. I have a ruby red '14 GT with the louvers in the hood, blower under the hood. Fun car with incredible power. Does 90 in 3rd gear with 3 more gears to go. It is a little squirrelly in the rear end. Bet that snake is really squirrelly. Great photo, makes me want to trade.

Now I could ask you how you know it gets to 90 in 3rd, but I used to have that GT so I already know the answer. Thanks for your comments and happy driving that ruby red GT.

Beautiful shots, Dave! #2 with the wonderful raindrops would certainly be right at home on closeup!

Thanks Donna. Actually I like the abstract more than the literal and have it hanging on my wall.

And I know it's beautiful, Dave. The abstract is my favorite too.

I remember the first year the Mustang was produced, as well. A neighbor girl celebrated her 16th birthday. Her rich uncle told her he'd buy her a car, any car she wanted. There it sat in front of her house. A pink 6 cylinder, automatic trans, with white interior, convertible. Oh well.

LOL, and you did not offer to take it off her hands? Think what it would be worth today to a Mary Kay salesperson. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a fun comment.

Yes, it would be interesting to know just how many people's lives were affected by the Ford Mustang. I know mine was from the age of 17.

At the age of 16/17 the thought of even walking down the street on which that car was parked was repulsive. I don't think I knew who Mary Kay was back then, as well.

Like many things, yup, that would have been a very good investment. If we only knew.
