This is another set [#5 ] of the Iran in 1970 series. If you are interested in the earlier stuff, you can search under title or my login name.
This U. of Pennsylvania expedition was not typical of expeditions in general; we actually had a great group and a great leader in Dr. Dyson. During the summer we had a few excursions and parties. One large party included the local workers and their families.
Apologies For the lack of Sharpness.. I Haven't done any post work on these old slides. Let me know if you would like to see more from my archives. Thanks.

Thanks for your comments. I have posted earlier with other photos about the Hasanlu dig. To answer your questions: Google Hasanlu for info on site history. There is good info out there.
As far as current conditions there, I don't have any knowledge, but judging from past happenings I do not have hopes that there is any local or government interest in maintaining it in the condition it was left in. Mary Virginia Harris died several years ago, Dr. Dyson retired and is living in upstate New York. Mary Voight and Vincent Piggott have gone on to successful careers. I retired from architecture 15 years ago.
Happy to hear from you all.
Larry
Hello, Mrs. Lari I am from the village of Hasanlu, a resident of Turkey. I would be very pleased to see you closely. I will always wait for you if you are Turkey. My father worked for you on Hassanlou Hill. If you can send me a lot of photos. Please, Turkey, I'll see you very closely. I am a tourism student and I am very interested in speaking with you about Hasanlu.
And write a book and get acquainted with architecture like you. By email, I can call you

My goodness! This brings back many happy memories -- I loved seeing photos of Oscar, Bob, Mary Virginia, Mary and everyone else! Hasanlu was my first dig; I was Jenny, the teenage daughter of Bill Sumner.
