A little message to all you faux-Christians. You do not comprehend the concepts of exegesis as evidenced by your stunningly ignorant interpretation of the Bible.

Here are a few pointers -

Being a CHRISTIAN means living a CHRIST-LIKE life. It does NOT mean living a Paul-like life.

Paul's letters were NOT the words of Jesus, they were the words of Paul. Paul's words are Paul's - they have NOTHING to do with living a CHRIST-LIKE LIFE.

Paul's letters to the various churches were addressing issues SPECIFIC to that place, not the world in general.

Here is but one of the many examples of what Paul engaged in -

Paul created the word "arsenokoitai" when he wrote 1 Corinthians about 55 AD. No record remains of any writer using the term before that time.

The word is often t***slated in English versions of the Bible as "homosexual." That is, a men or women who is sexually attracted only to persons of the same sex. Most theologians are fairly certain that this is not the meaning that Paul wanted to convey, since the idea of a homosexual sexual orientation only surfaced in the 19th century after the start of the scientific study of human sexuality. Also, "arsen" in Greek means "man." Thus, it is most unlikely that "arsenokoitai" could refer to both male gays and lesbians.

Jesus NEVER used weasel clauses. He plainly said to love EVERYONE. He NEVER excluded gays, b****s, Hispanics, Muslims, murderers, rapists, thieves, etc - he said EVERYONE.

Jesus NEVER used means testing. He said to feed and clothe the poor and needy. He NEVER said that such feeding and clothing was contingent upon passing a drug test, or a morals test, or a religious test, or having a job. Again, that whole EVERYONE concept arises.

Jesus said to welcome the stranger. He NEVER said unless that stranger is Muslim, or gay, or Syrian, or Iraqi, or Hispanic, etc. Again, that whole EVERYONE concept arises.

Jesus NEVER got involved in politics. He said "Give back to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's" - he plainly built a wall between the two concepts by saying that neither should influence the other.

Jesus was NEVER right-wing nor left-wing. ANYONE that identifies as a right-wing or left-wing Christian is a false prophet, as there was no such thing in Jesus's life. Again, CHRISTIAN means living a CHRIST-LIKE life. NOT a republican nor a Democratic like life.

Argue with me all you want, I'd be willing to bet that I'd be the ONLY ordained minster in the discussion.

I've spent over half of my life involved in the exegesis of the Bible. I've learned Latin and Greek as an adjunct to this pursuit. I can back up my interpretation with the works of scholars going back centuries.

Your ignorant, personally convenient interpretation of the Bible is, well, sad. There is so much to be learned if only you were willing to open your mind and let go of your prejudices.
