Wondering if I should buy a New Mac Mini instead of a 2017 iMac 27 if so what monitor would you buy for the Mac Mini?
Thanks
I have a 2014 Mac Mini and the monitor is a Samsung 27" curved monitor.
To due the mini justice, get at least a 27 inch, IPS, ...x2160, for around $400 and now to the end of Jan is a good time to get the Black Friday deals. LG, BenQ, Dell, Viewsonic are some of the brands you will see. I just got an LG 27 inch from Amazon for $400.
Mini with 32 ram. Lg ultra wide 34 ips version. External drives.
Thanks, after you start upgrading and add a monitor you start getting into the iMac territory.
I saw the apple ad for the "NEW" Mac Mini yesterday and it looked intriguing until I started adding up the total costs for a mini brainbox, keyboard, mouse/tablet connection cables, adaptors and display. By the time I had added the stuff into the mini to bring it up to the same technical standard as the iMac, I had exceeded the iMac's cost and still was unsure about the potential incompatibility of mac and non mac equipment parts. For now, I'm sticking with my 2011 iMac. It's no longer upgradeable but it still works. I know that I'll eventually have to bite the bullet and buy a new Mac as 64 bit software that is incompatible with 32 bit processor takes over the market. BTW, I've been hearing some bad reports about Apples Mojave OS being partially incompatible with some Lightroom and Photoshop software and hardware (ESP CD/DVD burner/readers.
