All I read was the Vatican was setting a global conference and not desiring the issue to be at the scheduled conference in Baltimore I did not read that they were condoning sexual predators. I was raised Catholic and I do not poretend there are predators out there I just do not blame the Catholic church. You can find sexual predators in all Churches, Synagogs, Muslim groups in fact pretty much all religious groups. You only get in the news what the news wants you to see and hear. Do not blame one when they all have it. If you want just sit near a school and watch as the kids get out of school and you may just see one. A lot of times the unknown one will live across the street from a school watching from his or her window. In the news lately we have all seen or heard of the female school teacher who has fallen in love with her student. As for the Catholic church maybe they feel since they are such a large church globally that they should approach the matter globally not just here in the USA.

It's not just that there are predator priests. It's that the church leaders knew about it, and just t***sferred them somewhere else instead of reporting them to the authorities.
